In Southern California, when we have an acceptance of an offer on real property, generally, an escrow is opened with an escrow company. An escrow company is an unbiased third party that takes information provided by the buyer and seller and processes that information, collects and disburses documents, funds and fees and makes sure that title is released from the seller and recorded into the buyer’s name.
